things have been crazy around here lately. summer brought on a ton of new projects + fun work but it also brought a car accident (everyone is okay!) + left me missing my sweet ride! hopefully i’m turning the corner on all the crazy things + can take a little summer siesta next week.
speaking of summer — i’m clearing out my etsy shop + am having a summer sale! just use promo code “15percentoff” to grab some of my favorite flea market finds like these chrome horses!

things have been very busy around here the past few months + don’t seem to be slowing down. we are in the midst of an unplanned move + although it’s very exciting to change things up it’s also a bit sad to let go. i really love our little bungalow + will miss its amazing craftsman details. this was such a perfect spot to land after our wedding + really was a bright new beginning. now we on to bigger + better things!
one thing we are losing with our move is the outdoor space + i think that’s what i’m going to miss most of all. although we didn’t use it half as much as we would have liked it was still amazing to have. so this is my little goodbye (for now) to some great outdoor space. next time around our outdoor space will be even better (+ bigger). i’m already dreaming + planning what we’ll do!

i could think of a million things to use this fabric on. the over-saturated linen is so lush + colorful. all i want to do is design a room around it! lisa fine’s textiles are at the peter dunham fabric showroom, hollywood at home, here in la (which is no surprise since their design aesthetic relates quite well). his place is amazing. it’s filled with tons of printed linens + cottons that remind you of far away places. peter shoves a lot of talent into that small bungalow. plus, a few doors down from the fabric showroom is his gorgeous furniture showroom. it’s filled with great taste + you couldn’t go wrong with anything there.

2011 was a lot of fun. the mr. + i did tons of fun things together + on my own i took major steps forward in the thing i take way too seriously — my career. these are few of my favorite 2011 things:
. on 11/11/11 – the tenth anniversary of a very sad event i went to my first pro football game! it was the vikings vs. chargers @ qualcomm stadium in san diego with the bro(+sis)-in-law + the mr. unfortunately the vikings lost. + kept that losing streak going…
. was in the stands for my first in-person mlb grand slam – at another minnesota team’s expense (the mr. is from minnesota. i’m a detroit girl so i’m not used to all this losing…)
. we had a great time in sf with some great sf people + i finally got to visit creativity explored, an art gallery that’s been on my visit list for at least five years. they did not let me down + i can’t wait to return.
. hawaii. enough said.
. there was a great engagement.
. + some wonderful times getting to know a great girl even more.
. + there was a visit home for a very sad event.
. but this year also included a decision to avoid the typical blogs (every one you + your best friend, mother, sister + grandmother have seen) + i was led to some really unique, wonderful + brilliant female voices who aren’t trying to sell you anything to line their own pockets but only want to share good design + positive thoughts. i feel so lucky to have discovered these girls.
. we also got to experience some great local street art first hand + to even learn more about some great ppl/friends.
. it’s been a great year + this is only a snippet of the positive things 2011 has brought to my world. as i said on twitter – 2012 better watch the fuck out cause i’m coming for it.
thanks for reading this little blog + i can’t wait to share 2012 + beyond! xog.

we are spending this holiday relaxing after a very crazy november due to some expected + unexpected events. with a week off i’m taking the opportunity to refocus + get ready for a very good year. things have been quiet around here but i expect to make more noise next year. good noise.
my mom gave me some inspiration that i’m going to carry into my world + onto this blog + i’m excited for the new year where i’ll be documenting that here.
have a great holiday + be safe + healthy + happy.
isn’t this amazing? yeah, i think so too. it’s actually in someone’s house. LOVE! check out jessica’s blog from marriage to motherhood for even more shots of this lovely tree.
