another extremely busy week went by in a snap — this one was filled with some great lectures from the lcdq legends event, a bit of catching up with some old friends + a VERY fun photo shoot for my windows at decorative carpets! i can’t wait to see the final shots from sam frost, he is amazing!
my favorite lecture from the lcdq legends event was on architecture + design in cuba. traveling is one of my favorite things to do + since i’m not able to do it nearly as much as i’d like the next best thing for me is to hear other’s stories + to see their journey. i’m a sucker for a good travel + history lecture. seeing all of the lush, intense colors + gorgeous designs while hearing the stories on cuba was simply inspiring!
cuba sounds like an amazing, intense place + it’s definitely on my list of places to visit. it’s so amazing to think that cuba has all of the design styles from the past 500 years on its island + things have been left untouched for the past 50 years (thanks to living under a communist regime…). one of the panelists on this lecture dr. michael connors wrote a book on cuba the splendor of cuba: 450 years of architecture + interiors. + it has now found its way on my wish list. he was amazing to listen to — it helps that he was a professor at nyu for 15 years!
