. happy holidays .

we are spending this holiday relaxing after a very crazy november due to some expected + unexpected events.  with a week off i’m taking the opportunity to refocus + get ready for a very good year.  things have been quiet around here but i expect to make more noise next year.  good noise.

my mom gave me some inspiration that i’m going to carry into my world + onto this blog + i’m excited for the new year where i’ll be documenting that here.

have a great holiday + be safe + healthy + happy.

. marni_anticamera .

marni_lab’s second issue of marni _anticamera is mesmerizing.  the inspiration for this issue comes from the artist carol rama + focuses on three “dreams” with her work in mind.  their are gorgeous ethereal images by paolo leone + of course the beautiful clothing itself.  yeah, i dream of marni…

. ‘compleat cup’ design .

while i’m spending all my time at the 9-5 someone else is doing stuff like this…the compleat cup.

. disposable art .

yes it’s disposable which is beside the point of being good to the earth i know. but at least it eliminates the lid.  i know too many people that think recycling/helping the earth/etc. is a joke so any design that helps out the earth without having to make others realize we need to be good to the earth is a bonus in my book.

. nyc holiday .

this is the time of year my desire to be in nyc goes out of control.  all of the fancy stores have their windows dressed to the nines for the holiday + they always mesmerize me.  bergdorf goodman blows me away every year + this year is exactly the same.  i love how it’s not so much a holiday theme with them + it’s more of a winter scene.  these windows take them 60% of the year to design – that’s the amount of time an entire residential design project can take when everyone is focused + on it.  i can’t even fathom a handful of windows taking that amount of time.  but that’s why they are so detailed + it’s those details that make the magic for me.  so inspiring!  maybe a trip to nyc will be in the cards next holiday season!

. vintage holiday decoration .

one of my favorite things to see during the holidays are the vintage decorations, pale + faded from years of use.  my choice?  pale pink + turquoise with some tarnished silver or gold.  it always looks so gorgeous to me!   there’s something about the vintage ornaments + details that feels right sprinkled in with newer sentimental pieces.  i’ve slowly been collecting vintage ornaments from the flea market + their history seems to give them a soul that adds a special spark for me.  i definitely love them much more than the cheaply made items i saw in the store this weekend.
